Coming into tonight, we were having to shuffle the line up and ask players to give their best effort at new positions, and while there were moments of execution and collaborative effort, we fell short and ran into a familiar obstacle. Set 1 began with a strong serving run by Kayleigh Newland giving us a 7-1 lead, but after Seneca regained serve and was able to aggressively serve back into the game, we began playing like the game was over and struggling to right the ship. We would regain the lead for a moment, but would lose the match with Seneca out scoring us 19 – 9. The momentum would stay with Seneca into set 2 where we would struggle to handle serves and generate energy from within. Our attention now shifts to our third to last season match on Thursday as we look to return to .500 in our record. Some key moments tonight were, Cate Gordon stepping in to play middle and leading the team in blocks. Another great moment was the drive and effort by Mallory Moran to secure 3 digs in one rally. Also, a solid performance by Abby Lydon and Cloe Wohlgemuth to give consistent sets and quarterback the team offensively tonight.
