Titans News · Alec Englemore and the Titans Shut down Chartiers Valley in Section Opener


Alec Englemore shut down Chartiers Valley, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Shaler Area to a 10-0 victory on Tuesday.

The Titans opened up the scoring in the first inning. Englemore hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

They also Scored three runs in the fourth inning. Englemore doubled and Junker homered to left as they drove in all the runs in the frame.

A single by Sharp in the fifth inning was a positive for Chartiers Valley and broke up Englemore’s no hit bid.

Englemore was the winning pitcher for the Titans. Englemore went all five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking one.

Bioni took the loss for Chartiers Valley. The pitcher lasted one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and three runs.

Junker went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Titans with a double, homerun and 3 rbis. Englmore also drove in 3 runs while Freshman Brady Mcguire had a strong day at the plate in his Varsity debut.

The sure handed Titans didn’t commit a single error, while Miguel Hugas and Luke Beran were stellar in their outfield play.

The Titans go to Chartiers Valley today for game 2.
