Information below for any students grades 7-12 planning on playing a Shaler Area recognized winter sport for the 20-21 school year who has not yet received a physical for PIAA sports.
Winter Sports Physicals
The PIAA requires one comprehensive physical per year for eligibility to participate in interscholastic athletics. The PIAA requires that the date on the PIAA Physicians Form Section 6 must be no earlier than June 1, 2020 for the upcoming school year. If the date on the form is incorrect the physical will be returned, and the athlete will be ineligible to participate until the physical is dated properly. We do not require any immunization information as is stated in the physical packet. We will not accept any physical paperwork that is not on the PIAA AND SHALER AREA forms that are downloadable at the bottom of this page.
The fee for all physicals taken at school is $10.00 and is due at the time of the Physical. There will NOT be a Functional Movement assessment offered for winter sports physicals.
Checks are preferred and can be made out to “S.A.S.D.”
ALL PHYSICAL PACKETS MUST BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY AND SIGNED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN TO RECEIVE A PHYSICAL. WE ARE ASKING THAT ONLY WINTER SPORTS REPORT FOR PHYSICALS AT THE DESIGNATED TIMES. WE WILL BE PROVIDING PHYSICALS FOR SPRING SPORTS AT A LATER DATE.
