Boys Varsity Football · 8 Years In The Making, Titans Football Storms Into The Playoffs

Needing a victory to secure a WPIAL play off berth, the Shaler Area Football Program overcame years of futility with an exclamation point downing Fox Chapel 62-0 Friday Night at Lou Martig Field.  The Titans started out with a statement driving down the field to initiate the scoring with a touchdown in their first drive of the game.  The Titans continued on pace throughout the first and second quarter and sealed the  victory with a  Justin DeSabato interception returned for a touchdown in the second quarter.  The scoring continued throughout the game for the Titans but the outcome had already been determined.  The Titan defense was outstanding posting its first shutout in over a decade.  Two Titans reached milestones for the season with Joey Kremer eclipsing 1,000 yards for the season and Darin Mizgosrski reaching 1,500 passing yards on the season.  The team will learn its first round opponent Monday night when playoff pairings are released by the WPIAL
