Shaler Area Titans Varsity defeated Butler 1-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.  Shaler Area Titans Varsity didn’t take the lead until later in the game. Shaler Area Titans Varsity scored one run when Hunter Jamison singled with zero outs in the eighth inning. One bright spot for Butler was a single by Hohn in the second inning.  Patrick Gumto earned the win for Shaler Area Titans Varsity. He threw seven and a third innings, allowing zero runs, six hits, and striking out two. Tyler Smith recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Shaler Area Titans Varsity. Hays took the loss for Butler. He pitched one inning, allowing one run, two hits, striking out two, and walking zero.  Negley started the game for Butler. He went seven innings, giving up zero runs, four hits, striking out eight, and walking one. Jamison led Shaler Area Titans Varsity with one run batted in. He went 1-for-3 on the day. Hohn led Butler with two hits in three at bats.
